Canadian band Men Without Hats had a huge hit with “The Safety Dance” (off their 1982 “Rhythm of Youth” album), but they were never able to match that success. Only “Pop Goes the World” (1987) made any kind of further chart impact. The group initially disbanded in 1991 after failing to find a US label for their “Sideways” album, but regrouped in 2003 for another album (‘No Hats Beyond This Point’).
Singer Ivan Doroschuk reformed Men Without Hats again in 2010 with new members, and they continue to perform. In 2012, Men With Hats released a new album, “Love in the Age of War.” They did a US West Coast tour in August 2014.
